Title
Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical

Schedule
3x12-hour shifts with day/night rotation, including holidays and on-call shifts as needed.

Assignment Details
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Nurse Licensure
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical/surgical setting

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient and family needs, developing an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide direct patient care and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families on self-care practices and health management post-discharge.
- Ensure patient safety and advocate for their rights and needs.
- Document nursing care and patient responses accurately.
- Engage in ongoing self-evaluation and quality improvement initiatives in nursing practice.

Compliance / Notes
Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
