Safety Coordinator

Progressive Roofing seeks a Safety Coordinator to support our construction Safety department across commercial roofing projects. This role develops and enforces jobsite safety plans, conducts inspections, and leads OSHA-compliant trainings to promote a safe, compliant work environment. You will investigate incidents, maintain safety documentation, and partner closely with field teams and supervisors to manage fall protection, equipment use, and hazard controls. Job Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific safety plans for roofing projects Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits, documenting findings and corrective actions Lead OSHA-compliant safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing worker safety training Investigate incidents, near-misses, and injuries, preparing detailed root-cause reports Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and company policies Maintain safety records, permits, JSAs, and PPE documentation for all projects Coach field crews and supervisors on safe work practices for roofing and fall protection Coordinate safety orientations for new hires and subcontractors Recommend and follow up on corrective actions to reduce risk and improve safety performance Collaborate with project managers and foremen to plan safe workflow, access, and material handling Construction safety management OSHA 1926 compliance Job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) Incident and accident investigation Fall protection systems and procedures Safety training and toolbox talks Safety auditing and inspections Risk assessment and hazard mitigation Safety documentation and reporting Knowledge of commercial roofing operations Benefits Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Qualifications OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification strongly preferred First Aid/CPR certification Fall protection/competent person training Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Familiarity with OSHA 1926 construction standards Experience with safety management systems or reporting software #J-18808-Ljbffr
