Production Planner

Location: American Canyon, CA

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

Pay: $32–$35/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a Production Planner to support manufacturing operations through effective production scheduling, inventory management, and cross-functional coordination. This role is responsible for developing and executing production plans that align customer demand, production capacity, material availability, and inventory targets while ensuring operational efficiency and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and proactive, with experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of production planning, ERP systems, inventory control, and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short- and long-term production schedules to support customer demand and production requirements.
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Procurement, Customer Service, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth execution of production plans.
• Monitor schedule performance and adjust plans as necessary to address material shortages, capacity constraints, equipment downtime, or changing priorities.
• Analyze inventory levels, safety stock requirements, and replenishment needs to maintain supply continuity while minimizing excess inventory.
• Review production capacity, line utilization, and material flow to optimize operational efficiency.
• Release and track raw material and packaging requirements to support production schedules.
• Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to mitigate supply chain risks and resolve material shortages.
• Support transportation planning and coordinate product availability for customer shipments.
• Analyze planning data, trends, and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement and drive informed business decisions.
• Lead schedule recovery efforts and communicate action plans during production disruptions.
• Participate in demand planning, forecasting, and S&OP activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule attainment, inventory optimization, and operational performance.
• Maintain accurate planning data and ERP system records.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and teamwork.

Qualifications Required

• 2+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, inventory control, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Food manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of forecasting, inventory management, production scheduling, and S&OP processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of American Canyon, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
