Registered Nurse – Intensive Care – ICU – Travel (ICU RN) Start Date: 6/22/2026 Available Shifts: 12‑hour shifts Pay Rate: $1,653.00 – $1,755.00 per shift Unit Information Bed count: 29 Average patients per day: 29 Minimum experience required: 2 years in Adult ICU Eligible for first‑time travelers: Completed at least one 13‑week assignment Patient types: Neuro ICU (ischemic/hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injuries, seizures/status epilepticus, spinal cord injuries, EVD drains/ICP monitoring, post‑op craniotomies, IR, 50% TNK admin on unit vs ED), off‑service Trauma or Medical ICU patients Patient ratios: RN:1:2, may be tripled if patients have downgrade orders; CNA not consistently staffed Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Required skills: Epic EMR experience, management of external ventricular drains (EVD), intracranial pressure monitoring, ventilator management, vasoactive drips, tracheostomy care, central line maintenance, post‑monitor TNK and IR, CRRT (if competent) Support Within the Department Supervisor Stroke Response Nurse Clinical Educator Charge nurse (free floating) Phlebotomy: Nurse Draw Respiratory Therapy 24/7: Yes Intensivist 24/7; NP or PA in‑house for emergencies Pharmacist – shared pharmacy team after 2300 PT/OT/ST – 7 days a week Case Management/Social Work (if available) Technology / Equipment EMR: Epic (required) IV Pump: Alaris Medication dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Philips Unit‑specific: Artic Sun (Targeted Temperature Management), Vigilance Monitor, CRRT, ICP Monitoring/EVD drains Floating units: Adult Critical Care (MICU, STICU, Dixon Heart, CTICU), PCU (1:3 max ratio) Orientation & Scheduling Orientation: NEO, 2 days departmental (dependent on skillset and comfort level) Weekend rotation: every other Friday/Saturday/Sunday No on‑call; holiday expectations: Travelers work 75% of holidays RTO: Manager approval Shift times: 12‑hour shifts, 6‑week cycle Required Qualifications Registered Nurse, ICU. SSN required. DOB required. References: One reference within the last 12 months. Skill checklist within 12 months. ICU reference within last 12 months. One previous travel assignment.
