About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Search and Evaluation in Oncology R&D. This senior leadership role is pivotal in the company's mission to eliminate cancer as a cause of death. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the scientific and strategic aspects of business development opportunities, from initial engagement to execution, and will act as a senior scientific partner to external organizations. Key accountabilities include maintaining a strong external network, translating external developments into actionable recommendations, and leading cross-functional evaluations of external opportunities. The role requires a deep expertise in oncology biology, drug discovery, and clinical development, as well as extensive experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology business development. Applicants for this role at the company should have an advanced scientific or clinical qualification relevant to oncology, with at least 10 years of experience, and a proven track record in leading complex, cross-functional teams. Essential qualifications include a strong understanding of business development practices, executive-level communication skills, and an established network within the oncology and biotechnology communities. The ideal candidate will also have direct experience in oncology search and evaluation, and a background in a range of transaction structures. Desirable qualifications include international experience, familiarity with financial modeling, and experience with data science or AI tools in the context of external innovation.
