Our Preconstruction Team is looking for new team members which includes Estimators, Dr. Estimator, or Preconstruction Manager. 

This role supports construction projects by preparing full estimates on large and complex as required by client's documents, provides complete conceptual and total bid price. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Displays professional communication with all parties involved in the construction project, including engaging in effective conflict resolution and problem solving strategies. 
2. Reviews project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
3. Prepares estimates including performing quantity takeoffs.
4. Maintains files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
5. Requests quotations; organizes, reviews and logs quotes received.
6. Visits project sites to evaluate implications upon final estimate costing.
7. Updates skills for software tools and technology utilized.
8. Performs post-bid analysis and participates in project hand-off meetings.
9. Assists with cost control system set-up. 
10. Helps prepare for and participates in proposals and interviews seeking potential new business opportunities.
11. Participates in bid review meetings with OAC team.
12. Prepares information needed to write subcontracts.
13. Manage solicitation process to ensure maximum subcontractor bids are received.
14. Delivers major bids, picks up drawings and other miscellaneous bid-related errands.
15. Coordinates subcontractors in attempt to eliminate and minimize scope gaps.
16. Provides complete summary at conceptual, SD, DD and CD drawing level including costing, scheduling and quality reviews.
17. Performs other related functions as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
SKILLS :

• Follows department protocol regarding confidentiality of data and information.
• Knowledge of disciplines, estimating techniques and cost control
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively in a positive or negative situation
• Computer skills – Timberline, Expedition, Excel, ICE, PayDirt, Digitizer, On Screen Take-off, Microsoft Outlook and Word
• Accuracy and thoroughness – monitors work to ensure quality
• Dependable – consistently at work and on time, follows instructions
• Manage multiple activities at same time and maintain priorities

EDUCATION :

• Construction Management degree or equivalent combinations technical training and/or experience
• LEED AP preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE :

• 3-5 years’ experience with projects of 5 million and larger.
