X-Ray Technologist (ROCC) Midstate Radiology Associates Meriden, Connecticut, United States About this position Up to $5,000 sign‑on bonus may be offered to qualified candidates. Join Midstate Radiology Associates (MRA) as a Full‑Time ROCC Technologist at MidState Medical Center in Meriden, CT. Position Schedule: Monday – Friday, 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Compensation: Competitive hourly wage between $26.00 and $40.29 per hour, plus applicable shift differentials. Job Summary Provides support under the remote supervision of an ROCC MRI technologist. Assists with patient preparation, including initiating IV access and preparing contrast materials as needed. May support multiple imaging modalities within the radiology department. Adheres to departmental, state, ACR, TJC, and OSHA standards. Key Accountabilities Prepares patients for MRI procedures by positioning them on the table and adhering strictly to site MRI safety policies. Starts intravenous sites, assesses existing sites, and injects intravenous contrast per established protocols. Practices radiation safety through appropriate use of protective devices and adherence to safety standards. Cleans and disinfects equipment and area after each use; maintains orderly work area; reports hazards to supervisor. Meets the needs of patients regarding age, condition, or special requirements. Accurately inputs data in the RIS to capture all charges and relevant information. Possesses computer skills needed for reports and correspondence. Works effectively as a team member within the department and with other units, providing quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate from an AMA‑approved radiology program. Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT). State license (CT). Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by licensure. CPR certification. Desirable At least one year of experience as a radiological technologist. Associate’s or Applied Science degree in a related field. Knowledge Applicable knowledge of department technology, anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles. Patient care standards and requirements. Quality assurance principles and practices. Customer service principles and practices. OSHA principles and practices. TJC standards of practice. Skills & Abilities Organizes and monitors patient flow to meet productivity, quality, health, and safety standards. Communicates effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff, and co‑workers. Maintains confidentiality of patient records. Schedules, organizes, and completes work per required workload. Reads, interprets, and follows internal quality standards and government regulations. Follows specifications and instructions. Reacts calmly and effectively in emergencies. Capable of basic life support (CPR). Special Conditions May be required to rotate on weekends and/or holidays. May be required to cover ancillary offices as needed. OSHA Class 1 exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Physical lifting and walking required.
