Credentialing Specialist

The Credentialing Specialist is an administrative role, responsible for supporting the Physician credentialing, licensing and onboarding process. This position does not involve direct contact with clients or Physicians to start but will expand for the right person; however, communication with external sources is required for verification of work history and related information. The role is available on a full-time basis. Key Responsibilities Verify provider credentials using online resources and databases Review curriculum vitae (CVs) for accuracy, employment gaps, discrepancies, and potential red flags Research and obtain contact information for physician employment history, educational institutions, and malpractice insurance carriers through online research and outbound phone calls as needed Maintain and manage a database of verification contact resources Create and manage provider profiles and organizational folders within SharePoint Perform document filing and records management Enter and monitor provider expirable items (licenses, certifications, etc.) within the credentialing platform Prepare and process mailings, including creation of FedEx and USPS shipping labels as needed Complete and submit external employment verifications for Locum Tenens providers Request certificates of insurance from the organization’s insurance broker This is an office-based administrative position for a Physician Staffing firm growing triple digits year over year. We work very hard and are very results oriented but we also enjoy the team we have built and the success we have. In this role you will have regular communication with our internal team and also external organizations — including employers, educational institutions, and insurance carriers. Qualifications Ability to work independently and prioritize workload to meet deadlines Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in documentation Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organized records in a fast-paced environment Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently. Demonstrated ability to build relationships, create opportunities, and influence outcomes.
