Job Description Summary
Reporting to the COO, the Director of Supply Chain is responsible for leading the company's supply chain strategy and execution across procurement, sourcing, inventory planning, and supplier management. The role ensures the availability of equipment, parts, and services required to support customer demand while optimizing inventory levels, cost, and continuity of supply. The Director partners closely with Sales, Operations, Service, and other functions to translate business requirements and demand forecasts into effective sourcing and inventory strategies, while identifying opportunities to improve supplier performance, working capital, and overall supply chain effectiveness.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Leads and manages the buying team responsible for procuring equipment and parts required to fulfill sales orders and maintain appropriate inventory levels across Ultrasound and Diagnostic Imaging.
• Partners with Sales and Operations to develop and refine demand forecasts and procure the parts and equipment required to support future sales and service consumption, incorporating forecast data and market knowledge.
• Provides input to and/or leads key elements of the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process, including establishing and adjusting inventory targets and stocking policies, evaluating contracted assets and their impact on stocking strategy, developing item-level sourcing strategies, and preparing for and leading cross-functional planning meetings.
• Proactively identifies supply chain risks and gaps and works cross-functionally to develop and implement solutions.
• Identifies opportunistic sourcing opportunities at attractive pricing to support future equipment sales and repairs, including purchases from hospitals, medical equipment auctions, trade desks, and other sources.
• Ensures procurement activities are appropriately timed to support sales flow and minimize sales order delays caused by sourcing constraints.
• Manages supplier relationships and performance to ensure continuity of supply, competitive pricing, quality, on-time delivery, and reliable service.
• Identifies, develops, and expands new sources of supply across all material categories.
• Identifies opportunities to improve supply chain processes, capabilities, and organizational structure and leads initiatives to increase efficiency as the organization continues to grow.
• Oversees facility inventory management through the Inventory Coordinator team, ensuring accurate inventory movements, effective cycle counting, inventory accuracy, and adherence to inventory control processes.
• Demonstrates strong initiative in achieving business objectives and applies strategic thinking to strengthen the company's overall platform; serves as an active cross-functional partner to Sales, Service, Operations, Finance, and other functions.
• Builds effective cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization and partners with internal stakeholders to prioritize supply chain activities in support of business requirements, operational efficiency, and compliance.
• Adheres to all company employment policies, including Quality requirements and safe work practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience/Training/Education

• 7+ years of progressive supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or inventory management experience; medical equipment experience preferred.
• Ultrasound and Diagnostic Imaging device purchasing and procurement experience highly preferred.
• Exposure to best practices as well as experience in an entrepreneurial company with a roll-up-the-sleeves, hands-on culture.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• General: Strong knowledge of supply chain management, procurement, strategic sourcing, inventory planning, and supplier management principles. Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements and demand forecasts into effective sourcing and inventory strategies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify opportunities, evaluate trade-offs, and drive actions that improve service levels, inventory efficiency, cost, and continuity of supply. Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Technical: Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and supply chain data. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and other business productivity tools. Ability to analyze demand, inventory, supplier, pricing, and purchasing data to identify trends, develop recommendations, and support business decisions. Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize new systems and analytical tools.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate complex supply chain issues, risks, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with suppliers and internal partners, influence decisions across functions, and lead effective cross-functional discussions.
• Math & Reasoning: Strong quantitative and critical-thinking skills with the ability to analyze data, identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and make sound business decisions. Ability to assess financial and operational trade-offs related to pricing, inventory investment, service levels, sourcing, and supplier performance. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, adapt to changing business requirements, and take initiative in resolving complex problems.

Physical and Environmental Elements

• Physical Demands: Ability to sit continuously for over 3/4 of normal work shift, and stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for at least 1/4 of the normal work shift. Ability to climb stairs. Ability to talk or hear continuously. Ability to see clearly to do all work-related tasks (clear or corrected vision at 20 inches or less). Finger dexterity is required frequently for over 3/4 of the normal work shift.
• Work Environment: Position is typically performed in the office environment with standard equipment and moderate noise levels (examples: computers, printers, fax, copiers, light traffic, and phone); however, will often interact with the production/warehouse environment. Thus, the employee works in a normal office setting and will travel to an open warehouse area where temperatures are subject to outdoor conditions in terms of cold and heat. There is exposure to various tools and equipment as well as forklift operations and corresponding noise levels.
