Utilizes therapeutic treatments, including exercises, massage, heat, light, sound, water, electromagnetic, and electrical modalities. Observes patient reactions, compiles records, and submits written reports to supervisors. Adjusts treatment plans with approval from licensed Physical Therapists. Fits patients with supportive devices (crutches, canes, wheelchairs, walkers) and provides training. Confers with physical therapy staff and other healthcare team members to exchange patient information. Assists with ordering supplies and coordinating equipment repairs/requisitions. Performs clerical duties, such as inventory management and supply requisition. Completes necessary documentation according to departmental standards. Escorts residents to rehabilitation gym. Performs endorsements to units for carryover of care.Valid license and current registration to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
