Maintenance TechnicianThis job description describes the authority, duties, responsibilities, reporting relationships and measure of accomplishment for the functional position of Maintenance Personnel of All-Plastics.This position is responsible for the general maintenance of production equipment and plant facilities. Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose and perform moderate to complex repairs on machinery. Must have thorough knowledge of functions and operations of all process and associated support equipment.The Maintenance Tech receives sufficient authority from and is accountable to the Maintenance Manager for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities.The Maintenance Tech reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.This position does not supervise any direct reports.The principal duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician representative consist of, but are not limited to, the following:Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs product equipment using mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic blueprintsHas thorough understanding of equipment, the functions and operational proceduresPerforms general facility maintenance to improve or modify facilityPerforms mold changes and modifications to improve or modify facilityAssist in installation, assembly and set up of production machineryRepairs facility equipment such as HVAC, electrical/electronic or material handling equipment, and is able to read blueprints and schematicsInitiates preventive maintenance and establishes repair schedulesFollows and participates in plant safety/housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environmentMust communicate issues that jeopardize company profitability, traceability, reliability, and creditabilitySupport our ISO certification efforts at all timesVarious other duties as assignedThe Maintenance Technician shall be deemed to be performing in a satisfactory manner when the following goals have been met and/or exceeded:Unscheduled DT MachineOverall satisfaction of immediate supervisor.Requirements:Education:Preferred: 4 year degreeRequired: High School Diploma with five years' experience in maintenance and plastic productionSkills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blue prints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations OSHA approved forklift certification Scissor/Platform Lift Training /Certification May require fire brigade ME membership and /CPR/First-Aid TrainingPhysical:Includes lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and use of hands and arms.Job may require heavy lifting (Up to 50 lbs.).Peripheral vision and depth perception required.Mental: Must be able to read, write and speak English. This position requires effective communication with all levels of the OrganizationWorking Conditions:Required to work throughout the plant in both air conditioned and non-air-conditioned situations. May work around and on machinery, using various kinds of machine and hand tools. Work environment may be hazardous, noisy, and dusty.
