Veterinary Extern - General Practice

An externship experience at an NVA hospital gives students a unique opportunity to understand the day‑to‑day operations of the practice and gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. Responsibilities Gather patient histories Perform physical examinations Create treatment plans Conduct diagnostics Provide dentistry services Observe or assist in surgical procedures Manage patient medical care Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients Externship Details Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Frontier Village Veterinary Clinic are designed for 3rd and 4th year students. Stipend Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for Frontier Village Veterinary Clinic is $1,500.
