ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Human Resources Department is seeking to fill two vacancies for a Human Resources Analyst: one in the HR Transactions Unit and one in the HR Records Unit of TRL (Transactions/Records/Leave). These positions will be responsible for supporting, developing, and delivering training to section staff and Citywide department HR staff, and for the day‑to‑day operational completion and oversight of the more complex transactions and analyses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Providing, customizing, and creating training and support for section staff and citywide HR/payroll liaisons. Conducting user access coordination for vendor portal(s) and SharePoint resources. Completing I‑9 requirements and monitoring for compliance. Responding to questions from employees and HR/payroll liaisons, including resolving, referring, or escalating issues as appropriate. Serving as a consultant to City staff in the interpretation and application of related procedures, policies, and rules. Cross‑training with other section staff for mutual back‑up coverage. Managing and processing personnel transactions for departments with complex operational needs.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Pay Range: $28.86 to $40.61 per hour. Hiring Range: $28.86 to $38.68 per hour. The pay grade for this position is 049. The actual salary offer will be based on the applicable promotion or demotion worksheet in accordance with the City Pay Ordinance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in human resources, public or business administration, or a related field Human resources experience at the paraprofessional level or higher All finalists subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience preparing and presenting training to all levels of staff Processing HR transactions and conducting background checks and other clerical administration processes HR administrative responsibilities using human resources management systems such as PeopleSoft or similar software HR customer service including handling problem escalations with difficult customers Interpreting and explaining human resources policies and procedures Proofing and auditing documents for accuracy Some experience with payroll and leave transactions This is a position‑based recruitment and will not result in any ongoing eligibility list.
