About the Role
The Company is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Global Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory team, specifically within the Reinsurance Legal Team. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality advisory, transactional, and regulatory support on ceded and assumed reinsurance-related matters globally. The successful candidate will be a leader with deep technical expertise, capable of balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders and taking ownership of key outcomes. Responsibilities include negotiating the legal aspects of reinsurance treaty programs, advising on reinsurance-related aspects of strategic transactions, and working with various business units to structure and implement reinsurance aspects of complex multinational programs. The role demands a professional who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, work collaboratively with peers and internal clients across a global organization, and is adept at overseeing and managing reinsurance disputes and claims issues. Candidates for this position at the company should have a Juris Doctor degree and be admitted to the U.S. state bar, with a minimum of 6 years' legal experience, preferably in (re)insurance matters and related corporate transactions. The role requires the ability to work directly with senior business leaders, and a strong background in negotiating and drafting reinsurance and collateral documentation. The ideal candidate will be adept at analyzing contractual aspects of internal reinsurance arrangements and have experience in addressing legal, regulatory, and compliance issues related to reinsurance.
