Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher | Hayward, CA

Step into a rewarding onsite opportunity supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) across multiple school sites in Hayward, CA. This full-time itinerant DHH teaching position runs from August 10, 2026, through June 4, 2027, and offers the opportunity to provide specialized educational support to students while collaborating with school teams and families. Ideal candidates will have California school-based experience, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Qualifications:

-Active California DHH certification or teaching license required
-Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students preferred
-California school-based experience highly valued
-Experience working in an itinerant or multi-school-site setting preferred
-Strong knowledge of specialized instruction and accommodations for students who are DHH
-Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills
-Ability to work effectively across multiple school campuses
-Candidates should be comfortable providing services in person

Schedule:

-Full-time position: 37.5 hours per week
-Start date: ASAP
-End date: June 4, 2027
-Onsite, in-person position
-Itinerant assignment serving multiple school sites
-Location: Hayward, California

Responsibilities:

-Provide specialized educational services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students
-Deliver in-person support across multiple school campuses
-Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies based on student needs
-Support students in accessing and participating in their educational programs
-Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, related service providers, and families
-Assist with accommodations and modifications designed to support DHH students
-Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational documentation
-Communicate effectively with school teams and families regarding student needs and progress
-Maintain an organized schedule while traveling between multiple school sites
-Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
