The company designs, builds, and supports equipment across North America and occasionally internationally. A significant portion of its business involves custom-engineered machinery and control systems, executed as design-and-build, project-based work.The Commercial Manager:Does not perform direct Sales, Engineering, or Production workFocuses on preserving and improving project profitabilityMonitors and coordinates project execution across departmentsKey support areas include:Business planningContract terms negotiation and managementProject financial management supervisionIndustry affiliations and insurance complianceReporting Structure:Reports to the Managing DirectorProvides direction and support across all company departmentsPrimary Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain company Terms and Conditions for Sales and PurchasingReview and assist with negotiation of new contract termsSupport Spare Parts and Engineered Solutions Sales with delivery estimatesAssist Sales with acknowledgment of customer purchase ordersEstablish project targets based on “As Sold” costing and budget documentationSupport Engineering with project scheduling to meet delivery and customer requirementsCoordinate with Spare Parts Sales for project-related quotesAssist Production with:Purchasing agreementsVendor delivery schedulingCommunicate project progress and status updates to customersMonitor milestone invoicing for Engineered Solutions projectsManage company insurance certificates and distribute to customersAdminister company ISNET account, including:Safety training assignmentsMaintaining required passing gradesUploading company documentationMonitor company performance against project and contract targetsPerform additional tasks as assigned by the Management CouncilPreferred Skills and ExperienceExperience with:Project-based billingProgress billingEngineered-to-order business modelsBackground in:ManufacturingIndustrial equipmentAutomation environmentsFamiliarity with:Enterprise accounting systemsData management systemsStrong computer skills, including:Microsoft ExcelMicrosoft WordMicrosoft Office Suite (or equivalent)Ability to:Work collaboratively in a team environmentFollow instructions effectivelyWork independently within defined responsibilitiesAbout Express Employment Professionals:Express can help you find the type of job that is a perfect fit for your needs and abilities, and you'll never pay a fee for our services and support.
