Job Summary

Join a dedicated Medical Surgical unit in Newport, Oregon, specializing in comprehensive care for acutely ill adult patients and those undergoing both emergent and elective surgical procedures. This role involves providing high standards of professional nursing care within a dynamic hospital environment.

The unit is committed to patient well-being and supports its nursing staff in achieving excellence, including encouraging specialty certification in Medical Surgical Nursing.

Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in caring for acutely ill adult patients.
Experience with pre-operative and post-operative surgical patient management.
Ability to manage care for both emergent and elective surgical cases.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Competence in administering medications and treatments.
Adherence to Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols.
Ability to perform NIH Stroke Scale assessments.
