Position Overview: The Social Emotional Clinical Manager will have leadership responsibility within the program/department and will be responsible for the daily coordination of all services for the project. This position works closely with the main Brightmoor Quality Childcare Initiative (BQI) grant and is responsible for the recruitment, retention, and management of all Early Childhood Specialists. The Clinical Manager will oversee the activities of Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Interns, ensuring the successful implementation of evidence-based trauma-focused mental health services for children and families in the Brightmoor Community. Responsibilities: Leadership and Coordination: Lead and manage the daily operations of the social-emotional learning (SEL) project. Coordinate closely with the main BQI grant to ensure alignment and integration of services. Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including higher education partners, consultants, and MiSide staff. Recruitment and Management: Recruit, retain, and manage Social Emotional Specialists. Supervise and support Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Interns, ensuring they provide effective in-class support for teachers and model intervention strategies. Program Development and Implementation: Convene a planning group to co-create the infant/early childhood mental health internship curriculum and training design. Develop a sustainable model to create a pipeline of approximately 10 interns per year to support SEL programming. Plan and implement a train-the-trainer model of play therapy for select MiSide staff members.. Oversee the creation and administration of a needs-based scholarship fund for interns seeking professional development opportunities that support the project goals. Service Delivery: Ensure interns are placed at BQI locations as planned, visiting sites 1-2 times per week to address crises, model intervention strategies, and stabilize classrooms. Facilitate referrals for additional MiEarlyYears and MiSide services when necessary and develop childcare policies emphasizing positive social-emotional development.. Community Outreach and Awareness: Plan and deliver BQI-outreach programming and materials highlighting the availability of social-emotional consultations provided by the interns. Support higher education classroom instruction on the impact of complex trauma on early childhood development and SEL interventions through guest speaking engagements. Billing and Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely billing for services rendered. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all services, interventions, and program activities. QualificationsEducation: Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field Appropriate State of Michigan licensure for degree MI-AIMH Level 3 endorsement preferred Additional Skills: Strong leadership, coordination, and management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Commitment to culturally appropriate service delivery and community engagement.
