A pharmacy opportunity is available to provide essential pharmacist coverage in a long-term care setting in Waukesha, WI. This contract assignment covers a two-week period from October 5 to October 16, with shifts Monday through Friday from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. The role supports ongoing patient care and medication management during this coverage window.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence, identify over-usage, and ensure the appropriateness of prescribed drugs.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient and pharmacy records.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, dosage, and drug interactions.
  • Provide additional patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol monitoring.
  • Educate patients on the use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions as required.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and resolve drug-related issues.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid Wisconsin pharmacist license required.
  • Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; on-the-job training is provided.
  • Competency in long-term care pharmacy services is highly beneficial.
