Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Water Treatment Technician with hands-on experience in sand filtration and chemical flocculation processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of water treatment systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain sand filtration systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Implement and monitor chemical flocculation processes, adjusting chemical dosages as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
- Monitoring and Testing:
- Perform regular water quality tests to analyze turbidity, and contaminant levels.
- Record and analyze data, preparing reports for compliance with regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to water treatment processes.
- Chemical Management:
- Handle and store chemicals safely, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Ensure proper dosing and mixing of chemicals for effective water treatment.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other technicians and operators to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in water treatment operations, specifically with sand filters and chemical flocculation. Extensive mechanical knowledge to quickly understand water flow and valve placement
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in water treatment (e.g., Class I or II Water Treatment Operator) are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of water treatment processes and equipment.
- Proficient in monitoring and testing water quality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions.

OSHA 10 certification is desired but the employer will provide this training if not already qualified.
