Position: Attending Infectious Disease Physician

Our organization is actively seeking an Attending Infectious Disease Physician with a keen interest in tick-borne illnesses to join our exceptional team of healthcare professionals. This role offers a distinctive blend of academic medicine, inpatient care, teaching, research, and community-based clinical practice.

The position involves responsibilities at our academic medical center in both inpatient and outpatient settings, alongside community-oriented care at our affiliated hospital and clinic. This integrated approach provides a unique opportunity to collaborate across various clinical environments while serving a diverse patient population.

Since the 1970s, our organization has been a leader in the scientific exploration of tick-borne diseases , particularly following the identification of Lyme disease in the United States. The Lyme Disease Initiative comprises 19 faculty members and over 50 contributors focused on tick-borne disease research, creating an excellent environment for collaboration and innovation. Currently, our initiative boasts over $50 million in active grant funding dedicated to the study of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality clinical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings at our medical center.
• Provide community-based clinical services at our affiliated hospital and clinic as part of a hybrid role.
• Diagnose and manage patients suffering from tick-borne illnesses, particularly Lyme disease.
• Engage in academic research and activities related to tick-borne diseases, supported by institutional resources.
• Contribute to ongoing academic initiatives within our nationally recognized tick-borne disease program.
• Participate in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Support the mission of our organization through clinical excellence, education, research, and community involvement.

Qualifications:

• M.D. degree with board eligibility or certification in Infectious Disease, along with experience commensurate with your career level.
• A strong interest and prior experience in tick-borne illnesses is highly preferred.
• Research in this field is actively supported through institutional funding.
• A passion for teaching and a commitment to the academic mission.

• Interest in fostering collaborative and interdisciplinary work.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position.

Compensation:

The salary for this role ranges from $204,498.00 to $238,924 annually. The final compensation will be determined during the selection process and will take into account various factors, including relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
