Human Resources Consultant

The HR Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day Human Resources function for a manufacturing client, ensuring compliance, employee engagement, workforce planning, and effective execution of HR programs. This role is highly tactical and hands-on, partnering closely with plant leadership and employees to support staffing, employee relations, performance management, training, compensation, benefits administration, and compliance initiatives. Key Responsibilities Employee Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation. Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Coach managers and supervisors on performance management, disciplinary actions, and employee development. Promote positive employee engagement and support retention initiatives. Performance Management Support performance review processes and goal-setting initiatives. Coach leaders on employee development, succession planning, and corrective action procedures. Monitor employee performance trends and turnover metrics. Compliance & Policies Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates. Administer FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and leave management programs. Support audits and maintain required employment records. Administer employee benefits programs and support open enrollment activities. Partner with leadership on compensation reviews, wage analyses, and market benchmarking. Address employee questions regarding benefits, payroll, and HR programs. Training & Development Coordinate employee onboarding, orientation, and training programs. Identify training needs and support leadership development initiatives. Ensure compliance training requirements are completed and documented. HR Operations & Reporting Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data. Prepare and analyze reports related to turnover, absenteeism, hiring activity, and workforce trends. Track key HR metrics and provide recommendations to leadership. Support annual budgeting and workforce planning activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or production environment. Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR best practices. Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications. Professional certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
