To learn more about Trillium Family Services, please visit Role Description The Skills Trainer is a full-time, on-site role located in Wasco County, OR, supporting children and families in building practical and social-emotional skills that promote mental health and resilience. Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering structured life skills training, modeling positive coping strategies, and facilitating individual and group sessions in collaboration with clinical and residential teams. The role involves creating and implementing skill-building plans, documenting progress, and adjusting approaches based on individual needs and treatment goals. The Skills Trainer will communicate regularly with internal team members and, when appropriate, families and community partners to ensure continuity of care and supportive environments. This position may also support crisis prevention and intervention, participate in team meetings, and contribute to a safe, therapeutic setting aligned with trauma-informed care principles. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Communication and Soft Skills, including active listening, empathy, de-escalation, collaboration, and clear documentation. Relevant experience working with children, adolescents, or families in mental health, social services, education, or related settings is highly beneficial. Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices and cultural humility in working with diverse communities is preferred. Ability to work on-site in The Dalles, OR, maintain professional boundaries, and contribute positively to multidisciplinary teams. High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary education in psychology, social work, counseling, education, or a related field is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Trillium Family Services
