Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems
• Perform patient and family education by assessing readiness to learn, developmental level, and factors affecting the ability to learn, utilizing appropriate patient education materials
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs, consulting appropriate resources for complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, or high-risk discharge planning situations
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan, adhering to organizational nursing standards, policies, and procedures
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices while promoting a safe, clean, and secure environment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Experience working in an intensive care or critical care setting
