Part-Time Behavioral Health Technician

Overview Entry-level Mental Health Technician role located in Huntsville, AL 35802. Part-time position, with weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays. Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Employment is with WellStone Emergency Services; shifts include 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, and 12:00 AM–8:00 AM (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts) available. Responsibilities Provide consistent instruction, guidance, encouragement, and reinforcement to clients Regularly implement basic living skills training objectives and document residents’ progress in the Electronic Health Record Coordinate activities, conduct group therapy, document client progress, and maintain electronic documentation in a timely manner Work closely with the WellStone Emergency Services treatment team Complete documentation of staff notes, incident reports, injury reports, shift observations, and other reports timely and accurately May be required to lift approximately 50 lbs. and to push/pull or transport clients and equipment Ensure clients comply with rules and maintain a clean, safe environment including housekeeping duties; assist clients as needed Demonstrate and practice safety, including fire drills, emergency procedures, and back safety techniques Promote a positive work environment with supervisors, clients, families, and co-workers Administer medication under supervision and document accordingly Attend staff meetings, in-services, and trainings; stay current on required trainings and certifications Work as scheduled and submit timesheets and leave requests in a timely manner Report facility or maintenance issues promptly and assist in maintenance/housekeeping of facility and equipment Perform verbal and, when needed, physical de-escalation techniques and crisis interventions Report to work on time and coordinate coverage with other Behavioral Aides for dates unable to report; manage annual or sick leave requests Possibly serve as escort/guardian for clients sent to the hospital for evaluation Complete other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Certified in (or ability to obtain) CPR and SAMA Ability to obtain Medication Assistant Certification (MAC 1) Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) #J-18808-Ljbffr Wellstone
