Neonatology Opportunity

Unique opportunity for work/life balance just 22 miles from the sandy beaches of South Padre Island! Valley Regional Medical Center is assisting a well established neonatology group practice to recruit a new neonatologist to their team. Three neonatologists currently cover two Level III NICUs along with L/D and Newborn Nursery service. Call is from home, while experienced NNPs provide 24/7 in-house coverage. Both NICUs have highly engaged service lines, with a commitment to providing quality, compassionate care. Full time/Part time available.

About the Practice

Practice has served the South Texas/Brownsville market for 35 years. Physicians typically work from 7 am - 5 pm (shorter shifts when working weekends). Three or four calls from home per week of service (three calls one week, four calls the following week), the practice covers two weeks on / one week completely off, with call including both hospitals, with 24/7 NNP in house coverage at both facilities. The practice covers two Level 3 NICUs and their respective routine nurseries. Equal time is spent at both facilities (three days at one, four days at the other) per week. Average deliveries combined is about 4,000 per year. Typical NICU census is 10 at Valley Regional, 12 at Valley Baptist.

The practice will offer a competitive salary. Benefits include health, dental, 401K, profit sharing, malpractice, and one week of time off every third week. Yearly bonus available based on productivity. Partnership track. Group will consider a new grad or experienced neonatology candidate.
