Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Schedule

This is a night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend required. Holidays as needed. Floating across all facilities may be necessary.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will primarily care for medical-surgical patients, with additional responsibilities for telemetry monitoring. The role requires excellent EKG interpretation skills. Ideal candidates will be capable of managing diverse patient populations including those requiring observation and management for respiratory conditions, diabetes complications, and palliative care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting.
• Monitor and interpret EKG readings and patient vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with care plans.
• Manage and care for patients with complex needs, including those in palliative or end-of-life situations.
• Document patient care activities using the EPIC charting system.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers are welcome.
• Current, active RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Candidates must pass an EKG exam during onboarding.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
