Staff Accountant

CV Resources is partnering with our client in Long Beach in search for a Staff Accountant.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the monthly close process and day-to-day accounting operations. This role will be responsible for preparing journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, assisting with accounts payable activities, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience and hands-on proficiency with NetSuite.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and other recurring adjustments
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and support accrual calculations
• Assist with accounts payable processing, vendor inquiries, and invoice coding
• Review and analyze general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits and management reporting
• Partner with accounting team members to improve processes and strengthen internal controls
• Support special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3+ years of accounting experience
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting month-end close
• Accounts payable experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Required: Hands-on experience with NetSuite
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and basic formulas
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
