Our three-attorney immigration and criminal defense law firm is seeking a full-time bilingual (English and Spanish) paralegal. The paralegal will primarily support the firm’s two immigration attorneys across a range of removal defense, humanitarian, and family-based immigration cases. This is an in-person position at our Edina, Minnesota office.

Primary Duties

·         Preparing immigration filings with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) for attorney review, including meeting with clients, drafting forms, reviewing applications, and gathering supporting documentation

·         Serving as clients’ primary point of contact with the firm, including answering questions and providing case updates

·         Drafting correspondence to clients, courts, and immigration agencies for attorney review

·         Processing immigration-related mail and calendaring deadlines and other key dates

·         Occasionally supporting front desk staff by answering calls and scheduling consultations

·         Occasional support to criminal defense attorney on as needed basis

Required Qualifications

·         Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish

·         Associate’s degree or higher

·         At least one year of experience in an immigration law setting (law firm, nonprofit, etc.)

·         Strong attention to detail

Compensation and Benefits

·         Pay of $22–$24 per hour, depending on experience
