Vice President Of Sales And Marketing A custom, engineered-to-order manufacturer located in the Portland-Salem corridor and serving the commercial construction industry is seeking a Vice President of Sales and Marketing to lead and strengthen its commercial organization. Post-acquisition, the company is investing in the people, processes, and infrastructure needed to support its next stage of growth and significantly scale the business. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving on the executive leadership team, the VP of Sales and Marketing will own business development, inside sales, customer experience, and marketing. The immediate priority is inside sales: improving handoffs, communication, follow-up, team leadership, and the customer journey from inquiry through delivery. For the right person, this is an opportunity to shape the go-to-market strategy, build a scalable sales organization, and help grow a $25-$30 million business toward its $100 million vision. What You'll Do Lead the full commercial organization across business development, inside sales, customer experience, and marketing, translating company goals into a clear go-to-market strategy and sales playbook. Make inside sales and customer experience the initial priority, strengthening process handoffs, quote and project follow-up, communication, lead times, and the customer journey from inquiry through delivery. Establish a disciplined sales operating rhythm with clear pipeline stages, CRM accountability, forecasting, pricing and margin discipline, and meaningful performance metrics including quote response time, conversion, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. Build and coach a high-performing sales organization through hands-on leadership, clear expectations, individual development, accountability, and a constructive culture of urgency. Partner closely with estimating, engineering, production, the CEO, executive leadership, and Board to align sales commitments with operational execution and support company strategy and growth. Drive new business development, expand market share, and identify underpenetrated verticals and geographies while building the infrastructure needed for sustainable revenue and margin growth. Develop the marketing function over time, including brand positioning, messaging, digital presence, lead generation, content, trade shows, and sales collateral. What You Bring 10+ years of sales experience, including 5+ years leading and developing sales teams. Direct experience in engineered-to-order manufacturing, within a smaller or mid-sized organization. Demonstrated success growing revenue and margin, including net new business development, within manufacturing, building products, or a closely related environment. Proven success building and leading inside sales and customer service functions, establishing repeatable processes and using KPIs and customer feedback to improve responsiveness, conversion, and the overall customer experience. Strong command of CRM systems, pipeline, forecasting, and data-driven sales management. A player-coach leadership style with the ability to build team buy-in while creating urgency and maintaining accountability. Established relationships within the Pacific Northwest construction market are a plus. Willingness to work fully on-site, with future travel of up to approximately 25%.
