Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Hematology Oncology

As a Locum MD/DO in Hematology Oncology, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with blood disorders and cancers. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive treatment plans and ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough examinations and assessments of patients with hematological and oncological conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Educate patients and their families about diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis
• Participate in clinical research and stay updated on advancements in the field
• Provide supportive care and management of treatment side effects
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulations

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification in Hematology Oncology preferred
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Louisiana
• Strong clinical skills and a patient-centered approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Prior experience in a similar role is a plus

Flexible Scheduling: Monday-Friday, 8a-5:30p

Call: Rotating every 4th-5th week

Level III trauma facility

Daily Volume: 15-18

Setting: Primarily outpatient

Patient Mix: 70% Oncology, 30% Hematology

EMR: Cerner

APP support available

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
