Cafe Manager (Multi-Unit)

Retail Cafe Manager Location: Bowling Green, KY Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm, rotating every other weekend and holiday Salary: $60,000‑65,000 Job Summary: The Retail Cafe Manager position is an opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial manager who is constantly seeking a better way to conduct business. The Cafe Manager is based out of Medical Center Bowling Green, which is a 373‑bed facility, with 800+ employees in a health‑care system of six hospitals. This position will lead the overall operational success of the Retail Cafe and Proudly Serving Starbucks Market Cafe. The Retail Cafe feeds approximately 1300 employees and guests daily. While the coffee shop serves 50‑80 guests per day. Managers will perform a variety of duties including the planning and supervision of special functions, the maintaining of cash controls and payroll records, as well as training and motivating a team of 10‑12 hourly team members. They also ensure customer satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient use of resources. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily administrative and operational tasks Handle all aspects of staff management Manage all financials including budget development, forecasting, and financial reporting Maintain knowledge of the marketplace and trends Control cost and ensure expenditures are within budget Oversee sanitation and safety of assigned unit(s) Purchase and manage inventory Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and culinary team Act as the direct liaison with the client Preferred Qualifications Culinary degree preferred, or A.A. Degree plus related experience Three or more years supervisory experience in food service operations Supervisory experience in a healthcare, senior living, retirement or related environment desirable Knowledge of retail, food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation Leadership, management and coaching skills Communication skills both written and verbal Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office programs, e‑mail, the Internet and other necessary computer programs ServSafe Certified Equal Employment Opportunity Compass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
