Fire Sprinkler - Systems Inspector

Position Location:  This role is supports our Laurel, MD  branch location, which serves customers throughout the greater  Washington, D.C. area.

Fire Sprinkler Inspector will perform inspections associated with fire sprinkler systems and other water-based equipment in accordance with all national and local standards. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to entry level fire sprinkler inspectors, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team. Our Fire Sprinkler Inspector's specialized skills, knowledge surround state/federal regulations, and commitment to proper system functioning play a critical role in safeguarding lives, property, and businesses from the devastating effects of fires.

As a Fire Sprinkler Inspector

• Inspect wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow preventers, fire hydrants, and fire pumps
• Perform fire sprinkler, fire pump and other water-based equipment inspections and testing
• Properly document deficiencies/impairments noted during inspections and follow required process of reporting deficiencies while on-site
• Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all work performed
• Maintain vehicle stock, tools, and equipment. Follow corporate policies related to vehicle use and care
• Mentor lower level Fire Sprinkler Inspectors

You will make an impact with these qualifications: 

Basic Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Sprinkler and/or Fire Life Safety Systems
• Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical and electrical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop (Microsoft proficient) , email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75pounds unassisted
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
• NICET Sprinkler WBS Certification Level I 
• Must be able to obtain next level of NICET WBS Level II within 12 months
• 3+ years’ experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Sprinkler and/or Fire Life Safety Systems
• Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

The pay range for this position is $47,053 - $80,662annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
