Overnight Veterinary Inpatient Technician, RBVH

Overnight Veterinary Inpatient Technician Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) is a new, state-of-the-art facility opened in May 2024 with advanced diagnostic equipment, 52 exam rooms, 12 surgical suites, and a dedicated emergency department. Position Overview The Inpatient Technician provides care for hospitalized patients deemed stable by the veterinarian, assists in assessments, facilitates treatments under vet direction, and collaborates closely with all hospital departments. Compensation Credentialed Technicians: $27 - $33/hr based on experience Non-Credentialed Technicians: $22 - $27/hr based on experience Anticipated Schedule Full Time. Wednesday - Saturday, 10 pm - 8 am. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Nursing Skills Basic husbandry and care for domestic and exotic patients Monitor patient status: vitals, mentation, pain score Phlebotomy, IVC/IVF therapy, cystocentesis, urinary catheter care, medication administration (oral, topical, injectable), restraint, in- and out-patient care, abdominocentesis/thoracocentesis/pericardiocentesis, oxygen cage operation, transfusion therapy, PICC line care, recumbent patient care, feeding and sampling line care Triage, sedation/anesthesia monitoring, recognize critical patient events and initiate CPR Medical Knowledge Disease processes and disinfection protocols Basic anatomy, physiology, pharmacology (Cubex use, common medications) Medical math, lab skills (basic bloodwork, lab submissions), radiograph positioning, medical terminology Technical & Administrative Skills Record keeping, equipment operation, stocking and cleaning, aftercare Knowledge and adherence to hospital policies Professionalism Communication skills, appropriate uniforms, professional appearance Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Three years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary hospital One year or more experience as an ER inpatient technician Fluent English language skills (speaking & reading); fluency in multiple languages is a plus Preferred Qualifications: Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) Prior experience working in an Emergency Hospital as an inpatient technician in an overnight role Benefits Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401k with Matching Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Continuing Education (CE) allowance and annual CE hours Uniform Allowance Paid Time Off: Sick Days, Vacation Days, Bereavement Leave License Reimbursement for required certifications Referral Program Discover more about our clinic at Ethos Veterinary Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
