Unit Information: Acute Care Unit Location: Brevard, NC Address: 260 Hospital Drive, Brevard NC 28712 Floor: Acute Care Building: Transylvania Regional Hospital General Information Tell us about the unit(s): Number of Beds -30 Number of Staff 40+ Type of staff: Day Shift 1 Charge/ CNC; 4-5 RNs/LPNs, 2-3 NAs Night Shift - 1 Charge/ CNC; 4-5 RNs/LPNs, 2-3 NAs Patient Ratios SD/ICU 2-4:1; Med-Surg: 5-6:1; 2-3 PCT on floor as appropriate Type of equipment - IV pumps, SCDs, Nova Stat glucometer, wound vac, Baxter feeding pump, Lift equipment as appropriate, Pyxis (nurses only) EMR -Cerner Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for: Must have All RNs must have BLS, ACLS completed prior to end of orientation PCT/NAs are required to have BLS Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. RNs with ICU/Stepdown experience Staff with 1 year med/surg experience is preferred List typical procedures performed on unit(s): IV starts, CVL, Arterial lines Foley catheters EKG monitoring Wound care Best personality Fit: Able to function in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Acute Care utilizes a Team-Based Care model. All care providers, from MDs, nurses, case management, pharmacist and PT/OT meet daily to discuss patient/care/treatments and discharge needs.
