About the Role:

J & Z Garage in Elk Grove Village, IL is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our team! This is your chance to be the vital link between our customers and our skilled technicians, ensuring every vehicle gets the care it needs. Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and conduct vehicle write-ups, documenting concerns and service history
• Communicate repair recommendations and estimates clearly to customers
• Coordinate workflow between customers and service technicians
• Follow up with customers on vehicle status, approvals, and completion timelines
• Upsell and recommend additional services based on vehicle inspections and manufacturer guidelines
• Process repair orders, invoices, and payments accurately
• Maintain high CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) scores and resolve customer concerns professionally

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or Service Writer preferred
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance services
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy shop environment
• Experience with shop management software (Tekmetric, Shopware, etc) a plus
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to quality service
