Job Description and Duties

SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) – SAN LUIS OBISPO COAST DISTRICT / COASTAL SECTOR

“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. The reporting location is the Morro Bay State Park in Morro Bay, CA and may also be scheduled to work at other locations within the District/Sector . This position works under the supervision of the Supervising State Park Peace Officer (Ranger) and general direction of the State Park Peace Officers (Rangers).

The incumbent is responsible for operational needs of the kiosk and visitor services duties in the Coastal Sector South's visitor services program. The Senior Park Aide (Seasonal) should have the ability to work individually as well as with a team, resolve conflicts, anticipate or identify problems and then come up with reasonable solutions, maintain accurate records of work completed, be organized, plan and prioritize work for effective performance, and maintain cooperative relationships with the public, co-workers and supervisors.

This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Working Conditions

The majority of the working shift is spent inside a kiosk.  Sitting, standing, and possibly walking the line of cars outside the kiosk.
