Overview Grand Elk Golf Club is seeking a Superintendent for its hospitality-focused golf property in Granby, Colorado. This role oversees golf course maintenance operations, agronomic planning, budgeting, equipment upkeep, winter course preparation, water delivery systems, and staff leadership to maintain course conditions and support year-round operations. Experience Required Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, plant science, or soil science. Valid Driver's License required. Pesticide Application License required. Ability to read and speak English required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Must be able to regularly stand, walk, and sit; use hands; reach with arms and hands; and talk or hear. Must be able to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell. Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles, frequently outdoors, with moderate noise exposure. Essential Responsibilities Prepare and maintain the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans. Plan, organize, and direct the maintenance and construction of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers. Supervise planting and cultural practices for turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants. Ensure maintenance equipment is properly maintained. Procure supplies and materials within budget limitations. Keep records of annual maintenance activities and costs and prepare reports. Implement sound purchasing procedures using preferred vendors when possible. Reconcile and provide timely coding of invoices, payroll, and other required documents. Coordinate snow removal depending upon facility location. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and government regulations. Ensure associates obtain proper training and licenses to perform job tasks safely and in compliance with regulations. Ensure proper mixing, calibration, and application of chemicals and fertilizers used on the course. Manage department members including agronomy and maintenance staff. Provide orientation and ongoing training to associates. Plan, organize, direct, and perform tasks to minimize winter turf damage. Coordinate aggressive spring preparations including turf cleaning, irrigation repairs, seeding, sodding, and fertility programs. Safely operate snowmobiles and tracked side‑by‑side machines during winter operations. Plan and direct proper winterization of the golf course including fencing, tarping, agronomy practices, and chemical applications. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot pumps, irrigation ditches, intakes, diversion structures, and motors associated with the golf course water delivery system. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Incorporate safe work practices in job performance. Perform other duties as assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr Twice
