As Director of Brokerage Operations & Innovation, you will lead daily execution while transforming how we operate — strengthening our people, streamlining our processes, and advancing our use of technology and automation, all without sacrificing service, profitability, or accountability. You won't inherit a finished operation. You'll have the authority to identify what is not working, build what is missing, and improve what already exists. WHAT YOU'LL OWN Lead day-to-day brokerage performance by directly developing the operations and carrier teams to translate customer commitments into clear, executable workflows. Take ownership of operating decisions and escalations when the CEO is unavailable. Build and implement scalable SOPs across customer operations, carrier management, tracking, communication, claims, and exception resolution. Create clear expectations, scorecards, and accountability for every operating role. Drive adoption of technology, automation, AI, integrations, and reporting tools that simplify the work while developing dashboards and reporting that sharpen performance visibility. Improve service performance, gross margin, load execution, carrier quality, and retention — by identifying recurring problems and fixing root causes. Partner directly with enterprise prospects and customers on sales presentations, onboarding, implementation, and business reviews. Ensure new business is priced, staffed, and structured for profitable execution as the company scales. WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE FIRST 90 DAYS Learn our customers, people, carriers, technology, workflows and financial drivers. Earn credibility by being visible, decisive, and hands-on. Identify the biggest risks to service, profitability, and scalability. Establish clear operating priorities and ownership Begin taking daily operating decisions off the CEO. Present a practical roadmap for process improvement, technology adoption, and team development. WITHIN 6 MONTHS Establish operating rhythms, scorecards, and accountability. Standardize our most critical customer and carrier processes. Improve visibility into service, margin, exceptions, carrier performance, and team productivity. Reduce avoidable service failures and communication gaps. Strengthen coordination between sales, operations, carriers, accounting, and leadership. WITHIN 12 MONTHS Build a repeatable operating platform that supports real growth. Deliver measurable improvements in service, margin, execution, and retention. Help win, onboard, and retain larger enterprise customers. Implement technology and automation that measurably improve speed, visibility, and customer experience. Reduce dependence on the CEO for routine decisions. COMPENSATION Performance Bonus Insurance Performance incentives may be tied to gross-profit performance, service execution, customer retention, technology adoption, and operational scalability.
