Medication Assistant, Certified, Long Term Care

Role Overview The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living support under supervision, ensuring age-appropriate physical and psychological care as per care plans. Key Responsibilities Assisting residents with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and vital sign recording. Providing psycho-social support and personal care tailored to individual needs. Assisting with transfers, repositioning, mobility exercises, and range of motion activities. Supporting meal preparation, serving, and encouraging participation in dining experiences. Administering prescribed medications within scope, documenting care outcomes, and communicating changes to nursing staff. Gathering vital signs and non-invasive specimens, and assisting with housekeeping and laundry duties. Participating in wellness, recreational programs, and organizational committees as needed. Qualifications & Skills The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (preferred), with prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care being advantageous. Must complete annual competency testing, maintain relevant certifications, and meet state-specific licensing requirements (e.g., CNA, CMA, TMA).
