Make a meaningful impact by supporting K-12 students’ growth and success as a contract School Psychologist in a vibrant educational community near Black Mountain, NC. In this essential role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that every learner receives the support and programming necessary for their unique educational journey.

Qualifications:

• Active School Psychologist license in North Carolina (required)
• Experience with K-12 student populations preferred
• Strong knowledge of cognitive, adaptive, and behavioral assessment tools
• Ability to administer a variety of special screenings and eligibility evaluations
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for determining eligibility in Exceptional Children (EC) programs or during reevaluation cycles
• Administer cognitive, adaptive, behavioral, and specialized assessments as needed
• Prepare detailed written reports and recommendations for academic programming and support
• Collaborate regularly with teachers, parents, and other support professionals to discuss findings and plan interventions
• Provide consultation services to assist staff in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Maintain caseload management and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines

This contract position begins as soon as possible and extends through May 22, 2026. The schedule includes 37.5 hours each week, with a standard five-day work week, serving a diverse caseload of students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. You’ll play a key role in evaluation—to inform eligibility and programming—making a real difference for students and staff alike.
