We are currently hiring for two separate teaching positions: a Full-Time Lead Preschool Teacher and a Part-Time Afterschool Teacher.Lilypad provides a developmentally appropriate, nature-based learning environment where children learn through engaging curriculum, outdoor exploration, gardens, animals, and hands-on experiences.Applicants are encouraged to indicate which position they are interested in when applying.POSITION 1: LEAD PRESCHOOL TEACHERFull-Time | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PMPosition OverviewWe are looking for a highly qualified, energetic, and nurturing Lead Preschool Teacher to love, nurture, and educate our preschool students.The ideal candidate will have strong classroom management skills and experience planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum. This position is best suited for someone who enjoys creating a stimulating, engaging classroom while building strong relationships with children and their families.ResponsibilitiesPlan and teach lessons in small- and large-group settingsProvide targeted instruction based on each child's current developmental and academic abilitiesCreate engaging learning experiences using songs, games, art, science, and hands-on activitiesMaintain a loving, nurturing, structured classroom environmentMaintain appropriate supervision and required classroom ratiosUse developmentally appropriate classroom and behavior management techniquesMaintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classroomCommunicate regularly with parents through verbal and electronic updatesFollow Child Care Regulation requirements and Texas Minimum StandardsPOSITION 2: AFTER SCHOOL TEACHERPart-Time | Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–6:30 PMPay: $15.00–$16.50/hourPosition OverviewWe are seeking a warm, energetic, and dependable Afterschool Teacher to support our preschool classrooms during the middle of the day before transitioning into our school-age afterschool program.This teacher will cover lunch and planning breaks, receive students during afternoon arrival, and lead our afterschool group through snack, outdoor play, homework assistance, and hands-on enrichment activities across our farm and gardens.ResponsibilitiesCover lunch and planning breaks in preschool classrooms while following established routines and maintaining required ratiosReceive school-age students during afternoon arrival and maintain accurate rosters and head countsLead the afterschool program through 6:30 PMProvide and supervise snack, outdoor play, homework help, and enrichmentPlan engaging activities including art, science, technology, games, and nature-based experiencesSupervise students closely during transitions, outdoor activities, and dismissalCommunicate with parents regarding activities, needs, incidents, and concernsMaintain clean, organized, and safe program spacesConduct safety checks of equipment and suppliesFollow Child Care Regulation requirements and Texas Minimum StandardsValid Texas driver's license and clean driving record preferred for afternoon van pickup routes; no CDL requiredREQUIREMENTS FOR BOTH POSITIONSHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare facilityStrong classroom management and child supervision skillsKnowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practicesExcellent communication and teamwork skillsPatient, dependable, energetic, and nurturingFirst Aid, Pediatric First Aid, and CPR certificationMust be willing to complete all required background checksMust be comfortable remaining active throughout the shift and participating in indoor and outdoor activitiesAt The Lilypad Farm School, we're committed to creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, and grow.We are hiring for TWO separate positions.
