Operations Director

Operations DirectorThe Operations Director will collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Membership team. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, managing internal teams, overseeing contractor relationships, supporting major events, and managing data and communications for both internal and external stakeholders. This position is key in providing leadership and ensuring that operational standards and strategic initiatives align with our mission.Key Responsibilities:Build and manage scalable operations, processes, and information systems for internal teams and communications.Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while ensuring team accountability.Create and manage people strategy and KPIs, and report team performance regularly.Collaborate with external partners such as Finance & Accounting, HR/Recruiting, and Legal teams. Manage sourcing and contractor relations.Contribute to fundraising strategies, donor communications, and reporting through mixed media.Build, monitor, and track stakeholder lists; manage CRM system data.Improve internal processes, file management, and tech stack (including G Suite, HubSpot, Notion, etc.).Support major events, marketing initiatives, and special projects.About You:Prior operations experience in nonprofit, philanthropic, or membership-based organizations is highly preferred.Experience with people management and leading teams is a must.Strong technical aptitude and a keen interest in incorporating technology such as AI to streamline processes.Proven project management experience and proficiency in CRM tools.Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.Experience with fundraising, major events, or strategic communications is a plus.Demonstrated management experience in diverse environments, with a proven track record of cultivating organizational culture and executing strategic vision.Work Environment & Travel:This role requires occasional work beyond standard business hours for events or deadlines.The position is hybrid/remote within the state of Michigan.
