Role Summary:

• We are seeking an experienced Quality / Automation Engineer with strong expertise in test strategy, automation, integration testing, regression testing, control validation, and defect management within the Banking and Financial Services domain.
• The ideal candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, and business stakeholders to define quality strategies and build scalable automation solutions. The role will ensure that banking applications meet functional, integration, security, control, and business requirements before production deployment.

Day to Day Job Duties:

• Define and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and quality engineering approaches for banking applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing.
• Perform functional, System Integration Testing (SIT), regression, end-to-end, and release validation.
• Validate integrations across banking applications, APIs, databases, and upstream/downstream systems.
• Develop and maintain automated regression suites to improve test coverage and release efficiency.
• Perform control validation to ensure business, operational, and technology controls function as designed.
• Develop automated API tests and validate request/response payloads, business rules, and system integrations.
• Perform backend and database validation using SQL.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution and closure.
• Lead defect triage and collaborate with development teams to perform root cause analysis.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Owners to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Support UAT, production readiness, release validation, and post-deployment testing.
• Prepare test execution reports, defect metrics, quality dashboards, and release-readiness updates.

Basic Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Engineering, and Test Automation.
• 4+ years of experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation technologies.
• 3+ years of experience with API testing, integration testing, regression testing, and backend/database validation.
• 3+ years of experience testing applications within Banking, Financial Services, Payments, or Capital Markets.

Nice to Have:

• Strong understanding of Banking products, processes, and end-to-end transaction workflows.
• Experience with Payments, Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Lending, or Core Banking applications.
• Experience validating business and technology controls in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of payment standards such as ISO 20022, SWIFT, ACH, or similar payment protocols.
• Experience testing cloud-native applications on AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of Kafka or other messaging technologies.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with performance and resilience testing.
• Experience with test reporting and quality metrics for senior stakeholders.
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification is preferred.
