Overview
Physical Therapist - General, San Luis Obispo, California. Start date: 08/17/2026. This travel assignment is a 13-week temporary posting with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shift: 5 x 8 evenings. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital with a 162-bed capacity and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit along with a designated trauma center.

Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct segments of treatment programs designed to restore and improve physical, social, and functional outcomes; collaborate as a co-leader in an interdisciplinary care team.
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans; select appropriate therapeutic techniques and modalities.
- Deliver therapy interventions according to established protocols; monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
- Establish discharge and care plans; communicate plans and progress to patients, families, and the care team.
- Complete accurate clinical documentation within established deadlines; ensure timely communication of results.
- Supervise assigned assistants and support staff as appropriate.

Requirements
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree; required where licensure obtained after January 2016, or foreign equivalent.
- Physical Therapy licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Current CPR/BLS certification from an approved vendor
- At least two years of Physical Therapy experience (preferred); one year of acute care experience preferred
- Current state license to practice PT; ability to work in an acute care setting
- Wound care knowledge is a plus but not required
- Willingness to travel and meet assignment needs; at least two years of travel experience in acute care may be acceptable
