IT Technician

Our client, a global leader in manufacturing products used in the automobile industry, has commissioned us to source, screen and qualify candidates for an opening for an IT Technician in their Kansas City plant. They are North America’s largest automobile parts manufacturer of original equipment parts. They design, engineer, test and manufacture exterior systems, interior systems, seating systems, closure systems, vision systems, power train systems, electronic systems, roof systems, body and chassis systems, hybrid & electric vehicle systems and do contract assembly. They have a 70-year history of providing excellent products and service.

Qualifications

• A four-year degree with a minimum of two (2) years of related work experience in computer information systems OR the equivalent combination of education and work experience

• Must have ability troubleshoot Rockwell automation products including Allen-Bradley CompactLogix and ControlLogix programs

• Must have previous experience working with PLC & HMI

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Flexibility with work assignments and hours

Responsibilities

• The IT Technician will ensure that all systems are functioning as well as troubleshoot any problems during the assigned work shift

• Ensures the proper operations of the following systems – Windows Servers, EDI, WAN, LAN, desktop PC’s

• Administers and troubleshoots the plant’s local area network in a client server, TCP/IP environment

• Troubleshoots the plant’s Rockwell PLCs and automation equipment

• Maintains inventory of all data processing equipment

• Ensure all plant processing equipment is up to date with regards to security patching

• Provides helpdesk services for all systems within the position’s scope of responsibility

• Conveys information to management regarding all consequential operational problems

• Interacts with corporate IS support to remedy problems existing with respect to the Client/Server environment, WAN, LAN, and desktop applications

• Installs desktop computer hardware and software

• Install / troubleshoot / repair / replace network connections to end devices

• Facilitates employee IS training by researching and scheduling training opportunities

• Installs Floor-based Manufacturing Systems
