- This position is hired under the Operations department and carries a dual mandate.
- From day one through terminal handover, you will be fully dedicated to electrical commissioning activities, embedded alongside the Projects team to bring all systems online safely and on schedule.
- Once commissioning is complete and the terminal transitions to full operations, you will shift into your permanent role as Electrical Lead for the Operations team - building and leading the maintenance crew responsible for keeping all electrical systems running at a bulk cement import terminal
Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical commissioning activities from first energization through handover
- Perform megger testing on large motors and high-voltage equipment
- Verify and validate I/O signals between field devices and control systems
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, wiring discrepancies, and equipment issues
- Energize MCC lineups, switchgear, and distribution panels per startup sequence
- Interface with PLC/DCS technicians on controls loop checkout
- Transition into Operations Electrical Lead post-handover
- Build, lead, and develop the terminal electrical maintenance team
- Establish and own preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Manage electrical maintenance scheduling and work order execution
- Maintain compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA, and site safety standards
Requirements:
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license (state or equivalent)
- 7+ years electrical experience in an industrial plant or terminal environment
- Hands-on PLC experience — Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar
- Demonstrated experience with megger testing of large motors (up to 4160V+)
- Proficiency in signal verification, loop checks, and field calibration
- Strong working knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, and MCC equipment
- Ability to read electrical schematics, one-lines, and P
- Prior commissioning experience on industrial or terminal projects preferred
- Experience building or leading a maintenance team preferred
- Familiarity with NFPA 70, 70E, and NEC standards
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
