Database Administrator II

Job Summary The Database Administrator will manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases with the goal of optimizing performance to achieve business objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases, in the cloud and on premises, to ensure high availability and performance. Lead efforts to optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing strategies. Implement and maintain advanced security measures to protect sensitive data. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and perform regular testing to ensure data integrity. Mentor Level I administrators, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting techniques. Collaborate with application and data teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of database systems. Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, providing expertise in database technologies. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Two to seven (2 - 7) years of experience in database administration, with a focus on SQL Server. Proficiency in database performance tuning, security, and disaster recovery in on-premises and cloud environments. Experience with SQL Server replication, clustering, and other high-availability technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on database optimization. Experience in mentoring junior administrators and leading database projects. Preferred location El Paso TX or Las Cruces NM, Remote considered as well.
