Support Healing in the Kitchen as a Cook’s Assistant at Our Adult Psychiatric Hospital

Looking to grow your skills in a role that makes a difference? As a Cook’s Assistant, you’ll help prepare nutritious meals that support the wellness and recovery of adults in our psychiatric hospital. More than just food prep, this role offers the opportunity to assist in life-skills development for clients, contribute to special events, and play a vital role in a clean, organized, and recovery-focused kitchen environment.

This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. The schedule is Wednesday - Saturday, 40 hours weekly.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and serving healthy, appealing meals to clients and staff
Maintain clean, sanitary kitchen and food prep areas
Support group or individual client instruction in basic food skills or healthy eating habits
Help document client participation in work therapy or skills training sessions
Collaborate with the kitchen team on food ordering and inventory
Prepare snacks and meals aligned with wellness and dietary goals

Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

High School/GED required

WORK EXPERIENCE

Experience in food production preferred
Ability to work within the facility as a team member and flexible to meet the needs of the facility and the clients we serve
