Senior Database Administrator

Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree, or equivalent experience where four years of experience may substitute for a degree.
• We require nine years of information technology experience.
• We require two years of managerial experience supporting Department of Defense efforts.
• We prefer a Master of Science degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• We prefer familiarity with the United States Navy.
• We prefer experience with NSWC Corona RS Division and NCTE.
• We require a current, active Secret clearance.

• We design and maintain complex database structures, schemas, and data models across platforms such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake.
• We monitor, tune, and index databases to improve performance, reliability, and query efficiency.
• We build and support database infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and automation tools to reduce manual effort and downtime.
• We lead root cause analysis for incidents, manage database upgrades, and apply security controls such as encryption and access management.
• We partner with developers, DevOps teams, and data scientists to create scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions.
• We may travel about 10% of the time and work from a government facility in Dam Neck, VA, with movement between our site and government locations for meetings and support activities.
